Message Everything has a shelf life and breaks down in it's own way over time. Environmental conditions such as changes in temperatures and condensation due to humidity levels can speed up the effect.

The boards which make up the gauge cluster as well as other circuit boards in the Z (excluding the circuit board in the ECU) have little to no protective coating. The green color which you see on the circuit traces is a photo resist coating which is used in the etching process during manufacturing of the board. It's left on as a form of protection to prevent corroding of the circuit trace.

There are two main board patterns for the speedometer. I can have them made with all the components installed except for the meter which would be transfered to the new board. Due to the cost, my only profit would be from providing the boards and the repair itself. They will last longer than OEM boards though because they will have a better protective coating.
